With the Spring Festival approaching, consumer demand for New Year goods is growing rapidly. In China, special freight trains loaded with foreign goods travel between various railway ports, bringing a wide variety of new choices to consumers.

Border ports are key nodes for trade and links in the flow of goods. In the northern part of China, the Manzhouli Railway Station, where the China-Russia Railway connects the two nations, sees a full capacity of CRE trains; in the southern part of the country, the Mohan Railway Station, where the China-Laos Railway connects the two nations, facilitates special trains driving the export of Chinese goods abroad.

According to data, by the end of 2024, nearly 30,000 CRE trains will have passed through the Manzhouli railway port, accounting for about 30% of the total nationwide; the Mohan railway port has handled 10.6 million tons of imports and exports, with cross-border freight transport covering 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) in China and 19 other countries and regions, including Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore. With one port in the south and the other in the north, these two railway ports are rapidly rising, reflecting new trends in China's economic development.
