Located over 20 kilometers south of Budapest, the capital of Hungary, the construction site of the Taksony Railway Station in the Hungarian section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway is bustling with activity. Chinese and Hungarian engineers are working hard, with construction vehicles regularly transporting materials needed for the railway project.

The Hungary-Serbia Railway connects Budapest to Belgrade, Serbia's capital, and is a landmark project of China-Hungary cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Hungary is the first European country to sign a BRI cooperation agreement with China, making it an important partner for China in advancing BRI and China-Central and Eastern European cooperation. With the deepening alignment of China's BRI with Hungary's "Eastward Opening" strategy, the two countries continue to strengthen practical cooperation in various fields, including investment, infrastructure construction, finance, new energy and communication technology. This collaboration contributes to regional and global economic recovery.

The Hungarian section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway, approximately 159 kilometers long, is being jointly built by China Railway No.9 Group and China Railway Electrification Engineering Group along with Hungarian partners. Once completed, the travel time from Budapest to Belgrade will be reduced from 8 hours to about 3 hours, enhancing Hungary's position as a transportation hub in Central and Eastern Europe.
